I used to have a friend whose brother would say "Yo-Hi-Ra"...People also call me Yari, My Titi calls me Yaha since I was a little girl. My hubby calls me Hira sometimes. My name is Yahaira, too... and I just love that a lot of other Yahairas on here have also been telling the novela story... because that's exactly what I have been doing all my life! Everyone always mispronounces it of course. I get Ya-HAIR-a, Ya-Hai-RRa, and everything in between. I love my name regardless, though. I've heard different meanings for the name like precious, dear, enlightented and even closely related to GOD in Arabic. The majority of the time people say it wrong or misspell it. I have a ton of nicknames first is YaYa (Got it from my sis because she couldn't say Yahaira when she was small and both my first and middle name start with Ya Ya).
