User Comments about the name Olive
Comment left Dec 26, 2008: "We tried out a few different names for our little one (due 5/1/09) but for some reason it was like we both knew her name was Olive from the moment we found out she was a girl. Her middle name is going to be Golden, which was the middle name of my best friend who passed away last year. Olive Golden... It's different, but we really love it." (Report as inappropriate)
Comment left Dec 23, 2008: "Now the 7th most unpopular female name in the United Kingdom - but at least it lives on inside its brother and sister, Oliver and Olivia respectively. Yet one must admit that in 2007 Olive entered the top 1,000 American baby girls' names (999th position) for the first time in nearly 60 years." (Report as inappropriate)
Comment left Dec 06, 2008: "My granddaughter is Olive Ida and she is 2 months old. I have grown to love this name and hope it remains relatively rare, but at least it is a real, old fashioned and elegant name for a girl and a woman" (Report as inappropriate)
Comment left Nov 30, 2008: "We love this name, Our little Olive is due in 10 days. We are thinking "Olive Maren" (Peaceful Sea)...sounds great to us!" (Report as inappropriate)
Comment left Oct 30, 2008: "I've always wanted to name a child Olive. It's my most loved name for a little girl. I plan to adopt however so we'll see." (Report as inappropriate)

Comment left Oct 21, 2008: "Our daughter, born April 2007, was named Olive Lily.
Her full initials are OLDY." (Report as inappropriate)
Comment left Sep 25, 2008: "I plan on naming my child Olive Louise if it is a girl. My best friend told me naming my child that was mean... I did a poll and 56% of the people who responded did not like the name. I love it so too bad!" (Report as inappropriate)
Comment left Sep 15, 2008: "I didn't think of it when my daughter Olive was born, but if I could go back I would have given her a middle name that starts with the letter U. Olive U. = I love you!" (Report as inappropriate)
Comment left Sep 12, 2008: "Love it. Our second baby will be Olive Penelope if it is a girl. The peace, love and harmony meaning behind the name will suit our little Libra child well I hope. Literature buffs will recognize the nod to Homer's Penelope (her olive tree bed). After all of this thought into naming our baby we'll probably end up with a boy!!! We'll find out in a few weeks." Comment left Jul 21, 2008: "I want to name my little girl Olive, still working on a middle name. She is due Oct. '08." (Report as inappropriate)
Comment left Jul 10, 2008: "My husband would like to name our daugher Olive however, we can't come up with a middle name we'd like to pair with it...we love the name, now we need a middle name!" (Report as inappropriate)
Comment left Jun 11, 2008: "Our daughter will be born in October, 2008. We're naming her Olive. My husband and I fell in love with it and I later found out it was the name of my great-grandmother. We're glad to bring the name back into the family." (Report as inappropriate)
Comment left Jun 03, 2008: "Whoa! You see the popularity of Olive way back on this chart, but has anyone looked it up on the new 2007 list? After decades off the top 1,000, it's now back as #999! My daughter is one of the 242 babies named Olive in the USA in 2007. I don't know if I like that...." (Report as inappropriate)
Comment left May 12, 2008: "We named our daughter Olive Anne - we love it and it suits her well. When I was pregnant we used to walk our dog through an old old cemetery and always looked at the names on the headstones. One day we saw Olive - and it stuck. She is unique, just like her name. I also love that we can draw and Olive on her clothes instead of writing out her whole name." (Report as inappropriate)
Comment left May 01, 2008: "Though I usually consider this an old lady's name, it's not that bad. Actor and comedian Sacha Baron Cohen and actress Isla Fisher named their daughter Olive in 2007. Other cutting-edge couples may consider this an alternative to the much more popular Olivia, while others still consider neither of them - thinking that while Olivia is over-used, they too would say that Olive conjures up a woman, a one-time hotel manageress or whatever, possibly from long ago, serving tea and biscuits in the hotel room or front parlour (spelt 'parlor' in the U.S.)." Comment left Apr 28, 2008: "I want to name our baby this, she is due in Oct 08 we will see what the hubby says. He is on the gate with this one. When we asked our 22 month old if he wanted a sister named olive all he said was "NummmyNummy" LOL!!! But this morning he woke up patted my belly and said baby olive night night!" (Report as inappropriate)
Comment left Apr 17, 2008: "My daughter is due Sept 08 and we've decided to name her Olive. It's the only name we could agree on." (Report as inappropriate)

Psalm 128:
1Blessed is every one that feareth the LORD; that walketh in his ways.
2For thou shalt eat the labour of thine hands: happy shalt thou be, and it shall be well with thee.
3Thy wife shall be as a fruitful vine by the sides of thine house: thy children like olive plants round about thy table.
4Behold, that thus shall the man be blessed that feareth the LORD." (Report as inappropriate)
