Comment left Nov 30, 2008: "My name is Jocelyn Monique...I love it!!! I do occassional have those who misprounce. I've been called Jockelyn, Jozelyn, and my fav is Roslyn. Any way I love my name and all the uniqueness that comes with it." (Report as inappropriate)

Comment left Sep 25, 2008: "I think the name is beautiful and if I have another baby girl I will name her Jocelyn- my daughters name is Marissa Lynn so i tnink Marissa and Jocelyn sound cute together!" (Report as inappropriate)

  • Comment left Sep 22, 2008: "My name is Jocelyn as well, actually Jocelyn Romelle and I have definately had my share of mispronounciation hijinks, (I hate Joshlyn...it just drives me up a wall!) But, all in all I have come to like its relative uniqueness. I was actually named after Marlon Brando's sister. The nicknames can be tricky, (most people call me Jay and only one friend gets away with calling me Jossie)" (Report as inappropriate)

Comment left Sep 09, 2008: "I named my daughter Jocelyn Reneah.....I love this name it was however my 2nd choice, my husband and I both loved Delilah, but no-one in our families liked it. I was due in March....it was X-mas eve and we were sitting around talking about what name to choose, Jocelyn was one of them(nicknames were important too...like Josie, Joy, Joss, Jo-Jo,I wanted a name I could shorten) but I wasn't certain..... then I looked across the street and saw "JOY" in lights in the neighbors window and I said..."OH, it's a sign....and we chose Jocelyn. Everyone complements her name. I love it, it is unique, unlike my name Jessica...." (Report as inappropriate)

Comment left Aug 31, 2008: "my name is jocelyn too ...my dad picked it for me because he loved it..at first i hated because i was the only one in THE school ..with the name now i love it i feel amazing to have such a cool name!!" (Report as inappropriate)

  • Comment left Aug 10, 2008: "My Name is Jocelyn too, i hate it to be honest it makes me sound old and it irritates me when people get it wrong and spell it worng!!! My friends call me Joss and Jossie which i prefer but i hate jocelyn" (Report as inappropriate)

Comment left Aug 05, 2008: "My name isn't Josalyn, but I have loved that name ever since I watched "A Knight's Tale". lol! =] I think it is beautiful and the origin is kind of amazing, since it used to actually be a guy's name. But I think that no matter how you spell it, no matter how it is pronounced, it is beautiful. The misspelled and mispronounced name just makes for laughs, conversation starters, and adds to the uniqueness all the more since there are so many ways to spell and say it, as well as all the nicknames. Your name makes you unique and I don't think you should ever be sick or ashamed of it. =] Enjoy the endearing nicknames that make you or your baby special! I am planning on having 5 kids (.. planning early as an 18 year old.. haha) and one will definetely have this name! Some other pretty ones are Josalyn Grace ____, Maleah Alicia____, Kaitlyn Hadassah ____, Noah, Kaleb, Israel, and Sampson. Very unique but I plan on having some unique, Jesus loving babies! Love, Emily" (Report as inappropriate)

Comment left Jul 30, 2008: "I love my name. I got it because my aunt was writing a book for young authors and that was the character's name. People can come up with all kinds of ways to pronounce it. I've been called Jaclyn all the way to Jasmine and every name in between. I usually don't correct them but my friends always do." (Report as inappropriate)

Comment left Jul 30, 2008: "My name is also Jocelynn. Although My mom spells it Jocelynn with 2 n's because that's how you spell lynn.My teacher's are always leaving off 1 n. I like my name and all but I really want a nickname too. I'm thinking about Jocey, but I have a friend that's really named Josie so that might be too confusing. Any Ideas?" (Report as inappropriate)

Comment left Jun 28, 2008: "I named my daughter Jocelyn Renee which are both common French names which wasn't intentional. I just liked the way they sounded together. It wasn't until I was talking to a French Canadian that I realized my daughter had 2 different gender specific names. In French, Jocelyn (without an e)is a man's name and Jocelyne (with an e) is the feminine version. So her first name is actually a man's name. Her midddle name, Renee, is the feminine version though because the masculine is Rene. I figured no one would notice because how many people are familiar enough with French to know this? Well, when my daughter was only a few weeks old and I told a acquaintance her name he replied, "Wow, that's weird. I can't believe you named your daughter after a hockey player!" As it turned out, the Chicago Blackhawks had a player named Jocelyn on the team at the time. So much for no one noticing! But, no matter, she used to hate her name because when she was younger she wanted to fit in and have a name like everyone else. Now she loves it because it is unique and it fits her so well. She can't even imagine having a different name." (Report as inappropriate)

Comment left Jun 01, 2008: "My name is Jocelyn too. I like the name Jocelyn but now I either go by Joss or Jossy. And the occasional Jo-Jo. I really like it because you can go so many ways with it. It gets mispronounce a lot. There is no Sh or Z in it! It's Jos-eh-lyn! But I really do like it." (Report as inappropriate)

  • Comment left May 13, 2008: "My name is Jocelynn. My mother added an extra N so that I would be unique. I hate it. haha." (Report as inappropriate)

Comment left May 11, 2008: "My name is Jocelyn and I love it! Since I was a baby girl, I was always called Jossie and I hated it. Once I went away to college, I got sick of people trying to pronounce and spell Jossie, so I changed to Jocelyn. I have tried to do some research on the origin of my name and I always get a different answer. I've have heard it is French, English, German, even Latin! Does anyone know the origin of our name?" (Report as inappropriate)

Comment left May 07, 2008: "I love how my name is spelled Josalyn instead of the traditional spelling of Jocelyn. I like being different and I like how it's spelled like the correct way to say it... although people still say "JAWSlyn. JOSHlyn. JAZZlyn. It's misspelled constantly. I don't mind it though because I'm used to spelling it out all the time. People call me Jos or Jossy to shorten it. I have met less than ten people who have had my name.. i love that its not that familiar so when people hear it they almost always get taken aback or say how beautiful/pretty it is. :)" (Report as inappropriate)

Comment left Apr 28, 2008: "My name is Jocelyn too. :D I DO get alot of people saying it wrong when I first meet them. I've had it pronounced like "Joshlyn" and "Jozzalyn". Everytime I correct people I always have to emphasize the "s" sound. :P I do like having the name because it's not something you hear everyday, even though it IS becoming popular. What's weird is that one of my closest friends is named Jocelyn too. So that makes it kind of less unique since all of our other friends call our names and we both look, so it's confusing. I also like the meaning of it though because it describes me really well[: I was going to be an Alexandra, and when I was younger I always said I would have liked that name better, but now I love my name because of how unique it is." (Report as inappropriate)

Comment left Apr 15, 2008: "I love my name Jocelyn... It's a bold name that is not easily confused with others. Which gives you definition, confidence, strength, happiness & makes you shine in a crowd... Jocelyn isn't a forgettable name, it's a name that stays with you. Every Jocelyn I have ever met is always shimmering shiny & happy go lucky!" (Report as inappropriate)

  • Comment left Apr 01, 2008: "My Name Is Jocelyn! I Get Called Joss All The Time And I Love It. Its Not A Very Common Name And I Like That Because I Like To Be Different. People Are Always Like " Your Name Is So Pretty" And I Think It Is Too. Love My Name x" (Report as inappropriate)

  • Comment left Mar 30, 2008: "I think it is beautiful. I met someone at a drinks night a few months back by that name. Until that time, I was hoping to call my future daughter Josephine (short Josie), but wasn't 100% on it. After hearing the name 'Jocelyn', it just hit the mark for me. It has the right amount of femininity to it, yet it is a very strong name too." (Report as inappropriate)
