Comment left Oct 29, 2008: "i dont think theres another name that i would have preferred. im majoring in english in college, and im a big shakespeare dork. i recently found out that jessica was first used in that form by shakespeare in the merchant of venice, and that made my day. i also know a million other jessica's, including my best friend, who also happens to have the same last name initial as i do." Comment left Oct 28, 2008: "Jessie as you can see is spelt with an "i". Jesse is how you spell the male version!" (Report as inappropriate)

Comment left Oct 23, 2008: "I KNOW PEOPLE WITH THE SAME NAME" (Report as inappropriate)

Comment left Sep 09, 2008: "I do not like my name, I am 24 and EVERY grade from Kindergarten thru high school even into some places I worked there is always another Jessica....I went by Jesse thru alot of school just so I didn't have to put a last name initial on everything. This issue I have had my whole life caused me to name my daughter a more uncommon name. Any future children I will do the same, the more unique the better. Also my 28 year old husband's name is Ryan which is enormously common also...." (Report as inappropriate)

Comment left Sep 04, 2008: "I'm a Jessica too. I'm 30 and I find it's not too common amongst people my own age. I never had another one in my grade at school, actually no others in my whole primary school at all and only two othes in my whole high school (2000 students). It got really common in the 90s though and I was constantly hearing my name being shouted at toddlers going wild in the shopping centre. It's funny that someone said they can always find merchandise with 'Jessica' on - my only problem is that they're always sold out!! My family mostly call me Jessie, my friends all call me Jess (and so do some strangers!) but I always introduce myself as Jessica. I like my name and wouldn't change it for the world. It's not weird and kind of cool!" (Report as inappropriate)

Comment left Aug 28, 2008: "Omg there is 11 kids in my school named jessica or jesse" (Report as inappropriate)

  • Comment left Aug 26, 2008: "Jessica is my name and it has been a real mixed bag. I was born and grew up in Italy where the name was not used much at the time so it was spelled with a G and I always had to correct the people and say it was spelled with a J. See, in Italy J is not really used as a letter and they would pronounce it as if it were an I. Then when we moved to the U.S. it seems one out of five people had my the name Jessica. I would hear my name called and when I would turn around to see who was calling me, it would end up being another Jessica who they were calling. Then... when someone was calling me, I would assume they were probably calling another Jessica. What a mess. I used to hate my name but now it is just part of me and I wouldn't change it for anything. However I don't like it enough that I would name my child after me." (Report as inappropriate)

Comment left Aug 13, 2008: ".xXx.. I'm a Jessica and i've always loved my name, it's quite common i guess but i've never seen it as a bad thing, if it's a common name it must mean people like it, it's popular! one of my best friends is Called Jess too but all of my friends call me JT so there's no 'both of us turning around at the same time' moments ha. JT..xXx." (Report as inappropriate)

Comment left Aug 03, 2008: "I like my name. I always know I can find pencils and bears and such with my name on them. :)" (Report as inappropriate)

Comment left Jul 30, 2008: "I luv my name, but sometimes people don't pronounce the 'i', like Jessca, which is just plain annoying. I have a friend called Jessica in my year in school, and sometimes people say Jessica so we both turn around, and ususally I'm already around my friends so they don't have to call me, but once they called Jessica and we both turned around and she was talking to me." (Report as inappropriate)

Comment left Jul 25, 2008: "Im from England. And Jess isnt a really common name. At my school in my year(180 people) there was about 4 including me, and maybe another 6 in the school (over a thousand)." (Report as inappropriate)

Comment left Jul 23, 2008: "it is great. sweet" (Report as inappropriate)

Comment left Jul 22, 2008: "I don't know anyone my age with my name except for boys.(I go by Jessie)I am 15 and NO ONE has my name. I don't like being called jessica becasue lots of times when people say it it turns out more like jesca and that really bugs me. And Jessie doesn't sound good with many last names...gosh i don't wanna get married and have my name sound totally weird. But i can't imagine my name as anything else." (Report as inappropriate)

Comment left Jul 17, 2008: "I love my name! At my high school there were several Jessicas, who all went by Jessie (which I despise and always have) and so I was the only "Jessica" so to speak. One of my best friends has the same first and middle name(Marie) and our last names sound alike and start with the same two letters! We loved getting teachers and administration confused about who was who. :)" (Report as inappropriate)

Comment left Jul 17, 2008: "Hi I'm a Jessica from germany and I really love my name. But most people call me Jessi or Jess" (Report as inappropriate)

Comment left Jul 12, 2008: "My name is Jessica and i cant imagion it being anything else. There are only 2 Jessica's at my school and we are both 2 grades apart, but i have gotten used to it cos when i was younger and being babysat both my babysitters had daughters called Jess so i sorta got over it...And well all my friends call me Jess. =]] Oh and i'm 14 xD" (Report as inappropriate)

Comment left Jul 10, 2008: "I used to be irritated that so many people my age were named Jessica. (I was born in 1979) Then as I got older I found out that my parents named me after the Allman Brothers song, "Jessica". My parents always had great taste in music, and in names apparently...lol Since then I have loved my name, it fits me. Call me Jessica, Jess, whatever...just don't call me Jessie!!"
