I loved the name since I was a little girl and my dad read my Where the ild Things Are, but thought "Max" was too short of a name by itself and didn't want something that sounded as pretentious as Maxwell or Maximilian. I have had people think that his name is Mack a couple of times and if they dont quite get it, my 6 year old kindly chimes in M-A-X! I chose the name because I had always loved it in the book, Where the Wild Things Are by Maurice Sendak and then during my pregancy I met a little boy, Max, in my sons kindergarten class and I thought it would be a cute, but strong name.
