User Comments about the name Caleb
Comment left Sep 15, 2008: "I named my second born son Caleb Ethan. My husband suggested it about 2-3 weeks before he was born, and I'd never heard of it. He died at birth, and the name is obviously very special to me. Whenever I hear it my heart stops in my chest. Love the name." (Report as inappropriate)
Comment left Feb 21, 2008: "Many name books / websites incorrectly list the meaning of CALEB as "Dog". However, a simple look in a Hebrew / English dctionary one will see that "dog" in Hebrew is CELEB, not CALEB. **Note** the first vowel is different.
CALEB is actually a compound word in Hebrew - something that is quite common in ancient Hebrew. Col (Cuf + Lamed) = all or whole. Lev (Lamed + Vet) = heart. Therefore, CALEB (or COLEV as pronounced in Hebrew) actually means "whole hearted"." (Report as inappropriate)
Comment left Jan 21, 2008: "I went out to a kid's pizza place today. There were three kids between 2-5 all answering to the name 'Caleb'. Worst. Name. Ever. And unfortunately, extremely popular." (Report as inappropriate)
Comment left Jul 13, 2007: "I really like this name, I like Jett Caleb or Seth Caleb or Caleb Daniel or Caleb Grant" (Report as inappropriate)
Comment left Feb 23, 2007: "The name was suggested by my pastor before my son was born. My husband liked it because it was uncommon. I liked it because of the story in the Bible - he was one of the only two warriors of God who got to enter into the Promised Land because of his trust and faithfulness in the Lord. Little did I know the meaning of the name carried into our lives: I almost died during giving birth to my son (whom also the doctor warned that he might be brain-damaged or came out dead). Each day, Caleb, my healthy and strong son is a constant reminder of God's faithfulness in my life." (Report as inappropriate)
Comment left Feb 15, 2007: "A nice name, unique, but might be hard to remember. There is a boy named Caleb at my school. He is such a jerk." (Report as inappropriate)
Comment left Feb 14, 2007: "We have a son Caleb ages 8 and I love the name as nobody else has it in our School in Australia. But he is a very full on boy. Loves to push people to limits.I do love him as he is his own special person." (Report as inappropriate)

Comment left Jan 08, 2007: "My son's name is Caleb, and I've known several Calebs in my lifetime. But, I'm actually surprised how many people misspell it or mispronounce it, especially given its Biblical ties. Joshua and Caleb were two of the main Israelites back in the day, and noone misspells or mispronounces Joshua." (Report as inappropriate)
Comment left Jan 04, 2007: "I dont mind the name, it's pretty fun...i've never had anyone pronounce it wrong. Plus I wanna name my child Caleb Jr. or Caleb II....keep the name going." (Report as inappropriate)
Comment left Dec 23, 2006: "I just don't like this name. I think it is too trendy. It also has that boring Mennonite sound to it. Shortening to Cale sounds more professional and less farmer." (Report as inappropriate)
Comment left Dec 20, 2006: "My son's name is Kaleb too. My husband and I decided to spell it with a "K"; because it's not common to see it with a "K". We love the name!" (Report as inappropriate)
